At this moment I'm studying in the field of applied artificial intelligence and would like to start my career as a quant with obtaining a PhD from major university. I am watching at Oxford, Cambridge and Imperial, so I think more about Europe and also thinking about career in London or Zurich as researcher. Maybe someone can tell me more about jobs in Zurich because I know that in London is a lot of hedge fund jobs, and they used to be well paid, but I haven't found a lot of information about the quant researcher compensations in Zurich. Also, if someone shall provide information who work as a quant about compensations hedge fund jobs and if there is a difference between Europe and U.S. job market I will be grateful!
