Hi everyone!
I have some questions about the industry that I hope can get answers from practitioners.

1) I heard Quant dev would be heavy on coding, Quant researcher is heavy on maths ( where PhD and Masters are preferred).
How about the quant trader role, would it be more possible to get a job for this position with a Bachelor?

2) I heard traders are expected to catch up with the news, have deeper knowledge about finance, work in fast-paced, more stressful environments ( compared to the other 2 roles?). This sounds pretty more similar to the Investment banking side? (Ofc I suppose traders still have better maths and coding skills compared to bankers)? Would you guys say then trader is the blend between Investment banking and the technical side of researcher and dev?

3) I'm a freshman student in Calgary, Canada as a statistics major and is deciding whether I should purse IB and Trader field. I don't hate coding but not as interested as in stats and maths so I excluded dev from start. Researchers require much more academic background which I'm unsure about in the future so it's out of agenda rn. I'm intending to try interning at both roles to see which I like better. However, it's pretty hard to do so as traders and IB are still vastly different field
