Hi all,

I have a question:

Let's say if there are 20 applicants from the same school, will the school select the top ones from this small pool (20 students), or, they will put these 20 together with the whole group of applicants from all over the world to make their decisions?

Thank you so much.

PS, I am a penultimate year student in Singapore, major in math and econs.

So we know that 20 students from your class are applying this year possibly to the same programs. Profs must be going crazy.

I dont think its very unusual. Loads of students from top Chinese schools like Tsinghua apply to the top US MFE programs. Selection, however, is based on individual merit relative to the entire applicant pool.

Thanks for your information.

MFE programs care first about job placement, then about diversity. If all 10-15 students from your school are that good, they will all get offers.
