recommended resources for topics in Matlab

Hi, I want to get your recommendations regarding two topics in Matlab, which are the following:

1) object oriented programming
2) financial time series objects

Can you guys recommend any books or any other good resources for me to learn and become very comfortable with these two topics. Thank you.
