Rutgers MQF:

Pros:

• Better placement rate
• Program is in business school
• Diverse course electives
• Higher Ranking at Quantnet

Cons:

• Job profile seems unattractive comparing to MSMF program for long term growth as per LinkedIn (Please correct me if I’m wrong)

• Coursework contains Financial Modeling course which may not useful for buy side quantitative trading

• 45 Credit program i.e. 15 course (10 core + 5 electives) this makes program expensive

Rutgers MSMF:

Pros:
• Highly ranked Mathematics department
• More rigorous
• Great buy side electives courses for e.g. High Frequency Finance and Optimal Control.
• People are working on buy side or atleast end up in risk management.
• Placement improved if you look at raw numbers compared to previous years.

Cons:
• 6 Core course
• Numerical Analysis II course seems like too much on theoretical side.
• Not Ranked on Quantnet.

Sorry in advance if I offended anyone with my d̶o̶g̶m̶a̶t̶i̶c̶ opinions.
