Hello everyone,
I am Abhimanyu from India, and I recently graduated with a B.Tech in Computer Science Engineering from Amity University, Noida. My overall score is 7.13/10 CGPA (around 71%).
I am very interested in pursuing an MSc in Financial Engineering / Quantitative Finance in the UK, especially at universities like York, Bayes, Warwick, and others. I wanted to ask for advice on the following points:
1. Eligibility: With my background (CSE + mathematics modules such as Applied Mathematics I–IV, Discrete Mathematics, and programming subjects like AI and Python), do I stand a chance of being admitted into a Financial Engineering or Quantitative Finance program in the UK?
2. Relevant subjects: Do universities usually consider only core mathematics grades, or do they also take into account programming courses when assessing eligibility for Financial Engineering?
3. Backup options: If my profile is not strong enough for top programs (like Warwick, Bayes, York), which mid-tier UK universities would you suggest that still provide good placements in quant/finance-related roles?
Any advice from current students, alumni, or anyone with similar experience would be very valuable for me. Thank you in advance for your time and guidance!
