Hi folks -

I am Quasar, 30 and hail from India. I have worked as programmer in the past and now as, a business analyst in the market risk area.

Probability, PDE, numerical analysis and math is fun and thrilling to me. I am working through the recommended book list on MJ's site(Mark Joshi).

My finance skills are decent - I am taking CFA 3, June '16. MFE, right now, is expensive for me. I am enrolling for CQF, want to program various market models in Python, Mathematica and C++, on my way along.

Would pursuing a PhD in Mathematical finance sometime from now, be a good proposition?

I am interested to work in a slightly more quantitative role - maybe in the middle-office of good bank, or even build derivatives pricing/valuation software.
