Don’t know if this belongs in this thread.....But I don’t want to sound racist, by why is the student body in most of the programs made up of 90% Chinese from China. I’m not trying to sound racist or hateful I’m just really curious. Are not enough domestic students applying or are we lacking intellectually compared to foreign students? Like do our transcripts and resume lack in comparison? Just a thought. I’m born and raised in the US and half Chinese.

Reasons are many, some you already mentioned. Graduate STEM programs have lot of international students, many from China.

Do US students apply for the same program and are just not being able to compete with foreign applicants?
