Hey everyone, I wanted to post this thread to help out international MFE students like me who may be facing issues in getting a student VISA to the US. Just for context, I had an admit from Baruch college for Fall'25 (also on my tracker), but unfortunately, my VISA was rejected back in August for reasons that aren't completely clear to me.
I'd made a reddit post on a subreddit dedicated to US VISAs (mostly student VISAs and H1Bs) about my detailed experience and wanted to forward it here if it helps out anyone who's looking to get their student VISA.
Also happy to receive any suggestions from you guys about what I could've done differently in my last interview, or if you're willing to share your own VISA interview experience, that'd be great too.
US VISA interviews tend to be quick and specific reasons for rejection aren't generally given, so if you have any experience about what mistakes one could avoid when appearing for one's VISA interview, I think it could help out a lot of students on this forum.
PS: Because of my rejection, I wasn't able to move in with 3 other MFE students, and Mike had made a post on this forum looking for a roommate in my place, so if you're on the hunt for a place to stay in Newport, be sure to check it out.
