Hi, I've been fortunate enough to receive offers for both Mathematics and Computer Science at Imperial, and Computer Science at Oxford. It is very clear to me that one of these will be my firm, and right now I'm leaning heavily towards Oxford. Is this the right decision? My goal is probably a career in quant or SWE as a fallback.
I'm under the impression that choosing CS at Oxford would mean quant trading and research would be unachievable due to the mathematical rigour required, but at Imperial I could potentially be competitive for those roles, as well as any quant dev roles. Is this correct? I'm also conflicted trying to compare the prestige of Oxford against how people beef up Imperial for STEM (especially maths and computer science).
I have also heard that Imperials JMC course is one of the hardest courses in the country, which is something to consider. Switching to Oxford JMC could be an option, but it's definitely not guaranteed.
Any advice is appreciated
