Hi everyone,

I am currently preparing for the GRE and doing well in the Quant section, but I am still unsure about the Verbal part.

For non-native speakers, what Verbal score is generally considered the minimum to keep an application secure and avoid any red flags during admissions review?

I would appreciate any insights from those who have already gone through the process.

I think for those strongly required GRE ( CMU, Columbia ) it's competitive to reach 330, which means your verbal should not less than 160.

Oddly I have also seen GREQ of 170 rejected by CMU. MIght be as they say "they look at application holistically"

I mean, isnt GRE just a filter at the end of the day? A full score in quant is nothing but the threshold value for some programmes. Though, Im also concerned about my verbal ( I study in a UK Uni, with english as my first language), so not too sure what happens there.
