Hello
I am going to apply for MFE this year. But what I heard from headhunters and recruting company this year is that MFE applicants almost doubled.......><!
I am just here to promot a discussion on the demand for quant jobs in the future. I would consider deveolpers as well.
what does everyone think will likely happen in the quant job market? Is it worth the money to get a MFE degree. So here I'd like to post a few questions:
1. I think it's still quite ok for 1st Tier MFE student to land a descent intern, but what is the chance to be hired as a quant?
2. How many new quant postions will be created in USA? (>200?)
3. How much will these new quants be paid? (still >$100,000? before tax)
4. Will the market value Phd more seriously than MFE?
If the answer to the above questions are no, I think it's better to put the money I've saved to better use. Maybe trade derivatives myself.... :D
