Why do you want to be a front office quant? Why a quant trader?

I ask with the intentions of part interview-prep, and part genuine curiosity (conversely, why does it seem that nobody wants to go into quantdev, or risk?)

for me, it’s because I’d like to be closer to the outcome of my work - closer to the revenue that I’ve helped generate. Also I know that I need more dynamic/competitive work since I’ve been in back-office before and I lasted 8 months before I slapped the notice.

Also the higher compensation helps, but I’m not sure how much the interviewers will appreciate this response :~)
