Exactly. I know they prefer the GRE, but they will also accept the GMAT. However, neither is required, and their site doesn't provide any details regarding class profiles which makes it very difficult to see whether one is competitive for admission.

I am looking for anyone who can shed some light on the columbia ms math.finance especially those who have applied/and or attended. I am particularly looking for some info regarding the background they look for, class profiles, etc. They do not advertise this sort of information on the website...

AndrewChang..thanks for the input. I forgot to mention I also have also taken a prob and stats course, and have experience in Java, C, MATLAB, Mathematica, Lindo/Lingo, and some of the API's in supercomputing like OPENMP, MPI, and little experience in CUDA.
