Hello everyone, I come from France.
I consider starting a phd program in applied maths at my university but I am a bit worried that it would delay too much my beginning in the financial industry. I'd like to pursue a career in IBD.
So I wondered if getting a phd in quantitative stuff allowed you to bypass the analyst and associate parts. Is it possible to start as director at a top tier investment bank?
Thanks for your answers and sorry if I made some English mistakes

Probably not possible to skip associate without work experience, nor should you want to.

Applied math or quant degree isn't necessary for ibd.

Your english is just fine :)
