Greetings,

I will be graduating this spring with an BSc. Applied Mathematics with a concentration in Statistics and Data Science. I am thinking about doing a BS Project / Thesis but have had a hard time figuring out what to do it on and my University does not have any "real" financial mathematics so I'm kinda lost here and wanted to inquire if anyone had any ideas?Possibly someone from the industry has a good insight into what would yield me relevant skills or insights nowadays. Note, some possibly irrelevant information: I have been in contact with a risk department at a local bank (~90% rev from loans) about a joint project but I'm not quite sure what could be relevant for them, and I've been in contact with a biosimilar drug company about a joint project.

I had previously thought about pursuing graduate studies in Applied Math/ Financial Math or similar (thinking of holding out 1 year though). and have aspirations to work in the market making industry or similar. Any ideas that would align with this?

After reading my post, it's clear that it probably quite vague, I'd be happy to clarify any details. Thanks in advance for any help and suggestions :)

I would say trying to reach out to different people on LinkedIn who has a job profile you target and ask for thesis/project idea. This may be a long shot as most professionals in this industry are busy as is.
Another idea is reach out to professors at different universities or quant master programs. I'm sure they can point you to the right direction.
Offer to help them research, gather data, write code.
You got a distinction from the C++ course here which is a huge advantage. Your excellent coding skills will be a huge attraction for many researchers who need people to develop models for them.
