Very quick background:
I used to really like pure maths, but not to the extent that the best people in maths research do (I don't like talking about the problems I'm working on at lunch, at dinner, at night, while sleeping etc etc)
I am a third year mats student in oxford- came top of the year last year(90% avg)
GRE 170 163 (guess what way round ahah)
Got a SA spot in structuring at a top US bank.
Interviewing for some kind of internship in a quant group in another comparable bank.
Applying for masters: LSE finance and economics and cambridge MPhil finance being top choices at the moment (more the first than the second)
I want to do something meaningful with my life and at the moment I am very undecided between doing a PhD in econ/finance or going in the industry.
Any suggestion you would give to somebody with my background?
P.S. before you ask, I did consider maths PhD, could have most likely (long story) got into Princeton for pure maths and surely into Oxford, I have some minor research experience and I don't think I would be a good maths researcher.
