Hello, I was hoping I could get some advice about what I should be focusing on during my undergraduate studies to make myself an attractive applicant for Financial Engineering programs. I am a sophomore Mathematics and Financial Economics double major with a Computer Science minor, and because I go to a small school I am able to to do a lot of Independent Studies, so I can design a lot of my own coursework. I have taken:
- Calc I, II, III
- Discrete Math
- Principles of Comp Sci (we used Java)
- Various Business/Accounting/Econ courses
- All of my Gen Eds/Honors requirements
- Differential Equations
- Linear Algebra
- Probability
- Principles of Comp Sci II (Java and Android)
- An independent study on Game Theory and Strategy
- Finance
- Investments
- Financial Economics
- Econometrics
- Corporate Credit Analysis
- Data Structures and Algorithms (C++)
- Statistics (R)
- Abstract Algebra
- Real Analysis
