Hey everyone,
Anyone here take (or hear of someone taking) Andrew Ng's infamous Machine Learning Course - Coursera - Free Online Courses From Top Universities ?

It's (I think) the most enrolled MOOC of all time to date, but not sure if that's because it's really good at giving a slow paced introduction to people completely unfamiliar with computers/machine learning, or if it has a good pace + leaves your with some real applicable knowledge to say....finance?

Thanks,
Ari

I've taken it. It's a very solid course, but since his research is more in computer vision thats where a lot of the emphasis lies. If you're looking for a basis of what machine learning is this is a solid course, but it'll be up to you to figure out how to apply it to finance.

I've taken the course and I agree that it's solid. Furthermore, my lecturers of machine learning courses for this term in UCL also agree that the course is solid and I guess that on average it has a good reputation even from the experts. Please also consider the online course of Hastie and Tibshirani form Stanford.
