I just wanted to know, in case MFE wouldn't work out for me.
If I wanted to run a business would a MFE degree be sufficent enough for knowledge of how to run a business? Or if that degree is good enough to give you management opportunities if I wanted to get into IT management instead?
Thank you for your time.

Busienss management and and an MS in quant finance aren't fully orthoganal, but are close. You need accounting, corporate finance, and similar general skills for business management. Most of the quants I see don't pursue that.

Vlad, it depends on which MFE program you go to. Many offer a few optional courses which might allow the opportunity to take some MBA courses at the same college. Look into the programs you are interested in pursuing and see if this is a possibility.

Fixed Income Securities and Financial Derivatives including no arbitrage pricing and basic trading techniques and intuition are common to an MBA and MFE program. However, these courses are electives in an MBA so you do not have to necessarily do them to, say, even major in Finance.

Advait So you're stating MFE courses are readily available to someone pursing a MBA? (Obviously, only if the college had both programs).
