Hello everyone
I am new to this forum and unsure weather it has been asked before or not.I am currently in 7th semester and have got a backlog in 1 subject in 6th semester. Many people have advised me not to apply while having a current backlog.I will clear this subject in february 2012.But i think it will be too late as most of the universities deadlines are in december. So weather i should wait for the subject to clear and apply in feb or apply now???

what is your undergrad institute and the backlog paper?

Medicaps Institute of Technology & Management,Indore RGPV University.
BE Mechanical Engineering
Backlog paper is Operations Management.

I'd suggest starting a thread with a remotely descriptive and relevant name in future, instead of this vague and fairly useless one.

Thanks bansal and daleholborow for the reply.
Sorry for the thread name.
You suggest a thread name and i will start a new thread.

I'd also suggest using your initiative, and trying to come up with a descriptive name on your own ;)

I changed the title of this discussion to "Apply to MFE with pending courses". I reckon it's a much improvement over "Suggestion please".
I suspect many people are not really familiar with the use of "backlog" and "weather" in this context so you may not get as many response as you like.
The answer is simply that if you complete all courses and get your bachelor degree by this summer, MFE programs would consider you for admission for their Fall incoming class.

But my result status at sixth semester is “fail”.Don't you think this will be a problem?

i never knew that it comes up as fail on transcript so i am changing my recommendation from apply to donot apply. Fail is an extreme put off. You are not Math major and are neither from IIT so your profile was already weak and Fail kills it totally

if you want to get into good school apply next year and by that time clear your exam, get solid gre score, get a job in asset management and study a couple advanced courses of math next semster.

If you want to get into tier 2 schools you can apply now. your call
