There are two options in my college. Bachelor of Art in Math and Bachelor of Science in Math. Which one is better for being a quant?

What's the prospectus/focus of each course?

An 'Art' degree could be more fundamental, but it depends on the university I suppose.

MS requires more courses and takes longer time. BA is more flexible in that students can concentrate in studying one or two tracks.

I suppose BA focuses on depth and BS is broader. With BA discipline, I reckon it is possible to do independent thinking. That's not to say that BS is not good; it depends what you want.

If I had a choice; a good mix of pure and applied maths is a good hedge:)

At my university the BA and BS degrees differ in the required general education courses. You would have to take more science courses for a BS while you would have to take more humanities/art type of courses for a BA.
