Building a GitHub portfolio before starting MFE

Hi guys, I am looking for some advice to work on some good projects for next few months. I am bound to start my MFE course next year and I want to utilize this time to build a good Github portfolio. I have 5 years of experience working in HFT and Quantitative Portfolio Management and I have a good working knowledge of Python and C++. However, I do not know what kind of projects to start with.
