I know this question has been asked all over this forum, but everyone's situation is different.
I have a PhD in Chemical Engineering and my graduate/postdoc work was in Statistical Mechanics and Monte Carlo methods. I have had a job developing Kalman Filters and Bayesian Tracking Models used in Data Fusion for DoD applications. I also have a strong programming background and lots of experience with high performance computing and parallel programming. And you guessed it, I'm interested in switching careers to something in Quantitative Finance. Is my background something that recuiters are looking for, or do I need to acquire some education in Financial Engineering?
Thanks.
