Hi, I'm trying to become a buy side quant analyst/researcher in london and want to know which degree would make me the most employable to these kinds of roles. I would be open to doing a sell side or another role that would allow me to gain relevant experience and move into buy side quant later on. I did well in my mathematics undergrad degree (mcgill) and worked for 3 years as a data engineer at a fintech company so solid coding background. Imperial seems like the better school but I'm seeing mixed opinions on the program because its in the business school and not a financial mathematics program. I can't tell how the mathematical rigour differs from the two programs based on the course descriptions but it seems like they both cover much of the same topics if I select the right elective courses. Also, Imperial is quite a bit more expensive so I wonder if that pays off in the end as well. I currently have offers for these two programs so these are my options right now.
I would appreciate any advice or insight on this comparison. Thanks!
