CMU MSCF CMU MSCF Admission results

My interview was great. It was with Mr. Richard Bryant. I was asked where else I applied, about my internship, and about a Financial Markets Program at my school. Total time for that was about 10-15 minutes. The rest of the time I was asking questions. My understanding is that they interviewed a lot of students 30-40+ I'd say... Good Luck to all of us!!!

Anyone applied for the 1st round got interview invitation?
I just received it today, and it seems that the interview will take up to 45 minutes. Not sure what will be asked. Any past interview questions to share?

My interview (and from what I know most/all interviews are the same) was basically asking about my background and motivations, and career goals. Also a little bit of discussion regarding whether to do the program full time or part time (I chose part time, but was asked if I was thinking of doing it full time - not sure what the intent of this was)

You can also search this forum for past interview experiences. In general it is a conversation about your fit with the program.

My interview takes about 10 minutes...
And..
1) How do you know MSCF program?
2) What you gonna intend to do with your master degree?
2-1) Will you get a job in US?
3) Any questions?
4) Other schools you applied..
4-1) How did you decide to apply those schools?
And go back to 3) again.

The interviewer, Richard, was very kind and witty anyway. :)

Nope.. not yet.. But I'm guessing that there's a lot of time left for interviews since the official result date is in the first week of April..

Their website doesn't make any disclosure about the date by which all interview invites will be out (for Round 2, that is). May be a good idea to mail the AdCom.

Well, based on Round One, they set interviews for a week or two before the decision notification deadline (30th Jan)... If they do something similar for Round Two, then interviews should be in mid to late March... I posted this in case CMU has deviated from past behaviour... I don't think I'll mail the AdCom before mid March...

some already got interviews and ad awhile ago. but they might ask early decisions. i have no idea about the regular applicants of r2. good luck to you.
