CMU MSCF CMU MSCF for career in algorithmic trading

I have no relevant finance experience except some undergrad courses. I have a degree in mechanical engineering. I also took some CS courses during my undergrad study. Can MSCF prepare me for algorithmic trading? I am working on the application essay and want to make sure it's not an out of line expectation.
