I think it's highly possible that they have enough people deferred from last year and just need to accept a few this year, which they did already in February. For the rest, they might hold until June to in case anyone withdraw before the school starts. We might all just get an rejection letter in June? i guess. Doesn't it sound very Columbia ?

As logical as that sounds, I hope it’s not the truth.

Well, they didn't pick up so I sent an email. Knowing how slow they are in responding, I am not sure when I will have any valuable information tbh. Because its March-end, most of us have to respond to other schools too and knot knowing about Columbia is a bit problematic.

Are they just assuming that we will give up other school for them no matter how we have responded to other school ? Tbh, I feel even more disappointed than getting rejection.

Although I do find it extremely odd that while the decision timeline is late feb, the status is still stuck at some decisions made.

From what I know, the latest batch was sent on February 18th, other people (including me) got an email about "Application under review" on the 19th. So I guess the everyone in the second batch is awaiting for their decisions.

Via Email and provided me a short application portal for the MSOR program.

Got the waitlist email too. It says it’s unlikely for them to admit anyone from the waitlist this year. So I guess they are almost done with all admits and only with some (infrequent) cases that some admitted students decide at a very late time not to attend this program (for example, CMU MSCF round 2 decision day is May 5) will they consider admitting a few applicants from the waitlist.

Atleast they should update status on FAQs page stating decisions will be sent by 'Mid April' or 'Late April' or something. People should get some clarity on by which date we can expect decision on all applications. If they are sending out results in rounds based on acceptance behaviour then they should take the applications in rounds like Round 1 in Jan and Round 2 in Feb/Mar. This is totally unfair for people who submitted applications at same time and still awaiting results.

Same here. I will turn to MSOR and give up MFE.
