Yes, I think that would be the perfect explanation :PI think they are going to send the rejections next week. :D
Same hereHi!
I just checked the application portal and I received an update in the upper section of the page," In the coming week, you will receive a Lionmail UNI and a PID number. We apologize for the delay." What does this mean? Has anybody received any such update?
Has everyone waiting for decision received this? And what is this Lionmail UNI and PID??I think they are going to send the rejections next week. :D
So apparently alumni say they have it. But I am unsure if ONLY alumni get it? or does everyone, even before they get rejected.Has everyone waiting for decision received this? And what is this Lionmail UNI and PID??
The people who get rejected in the first round? As far as I know, no one received a rejection yet. Some received the MFE admit and some got waitlisted/redirected to MSOR.
Did anyone receive reject after 1st round? The people who get rejected in the first round?
Yes, me tooHi!

LionMail is Columbia’s email, UNI is a string including your initials and some numbers, and PID I believe functions like your student ID. I don’t think they generate these for rejects so I would say the notification is a good sign. I’m starting in the MSFE (Econ) at Columbia in the fall and I have each of the 3 as well.I just found this. Any inferences from this on PID and LionMail UNI?
Since you have been admitted to Columbia MFE and have decided to pursue this course. Is there any way you could confirm this with your friends/ colleagues? People who have been rejected etc.LionMail is Columbia’s email, UNI is a string including your initials and some numbers, and PID I believe functions like your student ID. I mean they rarely reply. So i don't think there's any point.Has anyone sent an email to the admissions team about this?
Why would Columbia generate a Columbia email address for rejects? Just doesn’t make sense, I think if you received such a notification you will almost certainly be admitted, be it for the MSFE (Eng) or MSOR.Since you have been admitted to Columbia MFE and have decided to pursue this course. Please.... Don't give me hopeWhy would Columbia generate a Columbia email address for rejects? Just doesn’t make sense, I think if you received such a notification you will almost certainly be admitted, be it for the MSFE (Eng) or MSOR.
That might really be the caseNot to sound too negative, but this might turn out to be a technical glitch. Just saying :p
