Columbia MFE redirect to MSOR

Hi, I just received the rejection letter from Columbia MFE program. The admission suggests me to consider MSOR program.
I'd love to know what's probability that I can be admitted by this program? Should I try it? Did anybody meet this condition before?

We have these every years for the past few years. I'm not aware of anyone who got rejected from Columbia MFE, got redirected to MSOR and did not get in. Keep in mind that you have to decide if MSOR is the best degree for you. Just don't do it because of the Columbia name and in the hope that you will customize your degree so it's similar to MFE degree. They are two different degree with different level of career support for a reason.

Hey Andy, I think all applicants who got rejected by the MSFE program received the "redirect to MSOR" thing this year, based on some sort of surveys at other communities. really? anyone who got redirected can be admitted to MSOR?

Only some applicants who they think are qualified get redirected.

for sure? i heard from other sources that 250-400 applicants got redirected last year. however this year i did not see anyone saying that he got rejected by msfe without this redirect..

Andy Nguyen Can you please be specific on the difference between the career support of MFE and MSOR. Or can u direct me to the link where there is a discussion.

Hello! Any one here has any idea by which date one receives an email to interview for MS OR? Also, if one doesn't receive interview call, what are the chances they have to make it to the program? I applied directly to OR at Columbia.
