Hi friends,

If I could get some help on selecting my final university to attend from the three options.
1. Rutger Business School - MQF
2. Nyu-Poly- MSFE
3. IIT, Stuart School of Business - MSF [Not a priority. Just cz i got an admit I thot i'll just find out smething abt dis school too]

I am specifically interested in risk management and algorithm based trading. Although corporate finance is also gd enough.

My priority for selection:
Teachers, Education, Internships, Placements, brand value

Please drop in your suggestions and also if you could take some time out and reason your selection too.

Thanks,
Manan

Why do a quant degree if you want to go into corporate finance? That is a completely separate career path.

Edit: my bad, didnt see the MSF there. Regardless, I think you should narrow your goal down more. Corporate finance and quantitative finance are vastly different disciplines.

Would depend on what career you want. MSF seems the one that can be best suited for corporate finance. The other two are better suited for risk management or algo trading.

First of all, I would ask for placement stats and that sort of thing: you need to make sure the masters degree will be an investment, not an expense. Aside this, I would choose between this two programs based on which electives I like the most and are better suited for my goals. I believe the Rutgers MQF and NYU-Poly MSFE have a broad set of electives.

heyy... thnx diego... thats a nice piece of advice... will surely look into your points and get back to this post in a couple of days...

as such my major interest remains risk mgmnt n algo trading and probably could keep MSF out of the picture now....
