Hello people. I've heard a lot about CQF, but I don't know if it is an elite program or it's just hype. I'd like to know if it is similar to a masters or just a minor thing

I completed CQF last year (when I was finishing my sophomore year and about to become a junior), and I think I can share some of my perspectives. Certificate is just a certificate. I don't think it can find me a job or be a decisive factor in my MFE application (though I wished it could).

Why did I pursue it?
1. It was because my undergraduate institution had limited course selection freedom, and I couldn't access a systematic study of financial engineering courses at that moment.
2. Broaden my horizons and explore various aspects of quant finance

If the discussion is limited to whether CQF offers good learning materials and hands-on practice opportunities (such as completing some strategy reports and coding), then yes, it does provide a relatively systematic curriculum and offers some additional mathematical materials.

Hope these can be useful.;)

Would completing the CQF help me eventually get a Master's? My undergrad was weak, and I'm currently an actuarial analyst trying to transition to the Financial Engineering field.

Do this instead + Shreve or any other free course. Much better prep for both the interviews and thr job itself.
