Hi,

how good is the reputation of the CQF certification ? Is it well known ?
It doesn't event appear in the rankings. Is it because it's just a certificate and not a master ?

afaik, cqf pocesses nearly 0 recognition thus pretty much impossible to break in with just dat.

for the absurd price tag, ppl already in the door but want more education can simply sign up foundamental online/night classes such as stochal, numerical/optimization methods, econometrics, and programming at much more affordable/legit local state colleges. then start reading books and papers to get up to state of the art.

Worth it if it's a stepping stone into a top tier program. Otherwise probably not. Employers won't look at it like a degree and you'll be competing with people who have MFE's. I spent the last year in Columbia's quantitative studies for finance post-bac. Spent a lot of money but I was admitted for my MFE. In my opinion it was worth it but the certificate itself won't mean a lot on my resume.
