Hello all, I'm an econ PhD and want to become a quant.
So far I took courses on empirical finance, measure theory, stochastic calculus, analysis, forecasting and econometrics.
How else can I improve my chances? And is it common for the top MFEs to accept PhDs?

We could use some more information
1. Can you program?
2. Is your program prestigious?
3. What is your research focus?

For what it's worth I remember seeing here that UCB accepted a biomedical engineering phd a year back.

1. I can code a bit in R and (less) in Python. Surely need to practice before applying to jobs.
2. Yes, it's the top ranked dept in my country.
3. Mathematical Economics (theory), trying to spin it more to mathematical finance recently.
