Hello ya'll, I'm currently a 3rd year undergrad at a top 5 CS school and managed to get a faang internship during the summer. I'd like to say I'm pretty good at math, probability theory, and theoretical computer science in general and have taken literally every systems and machine learning related classes from OS to machine learning to even probability theory and optimization theory getting A's in all. My GPA is rock solid (3.9+) and I have pretty interesting research at my school as well (although not quant/hpc related). I'm probably getting a little ahead of myself but how hard would a pivot from faang to an ng swe @ quant be and how can I best prepare/position myself for recruiting. A lot of people at my school make this pivot but I always wonder "how the hell did they do that?" Thanks!
