Future of quantitative finance career

hi ,
I would urge the experienced community members to share their view on the future of jobs in the quantitative field. I am thinking about to enter this field. I am under graduate civil engineer (qualification) and doing job in the civil engineering field only. I have done 2-3 computer science courses as well.
I am eager to know because what lies ahead in the quant fin field considering the recession.

Technology marches, innovation springs.
With advances in computing, it becomes cheaper for people to get access to computing power that out of reach of most except gov a decade ago. With this new power, there are idea on how to use them to make money faster, often.

It will not stop. It will take on some alternative form but technology will be at the heart of it. And who are there to help?

If you have unique talent, there is always someone somewhere paying for your service. If you don't have talent, it doesn't matter which field you go to.
