Hi,

Thank you for looking at my post.

I'm quite new to the whole bakning world but have been studying financial math for a while (one year as an exchange student at ETH zurich and a one year msc in Risk and Stochastics/Financial Mathematics at LSE) and recently landed a FT with Blackrock RQA group and a summer analyst position for GS and their Strats group, both in London. Please share your thoughts, pros and cons about the positions.

What I concluded so far:

Blackrock
+ FT
+ Less working hours
+ Buy side
+ Will be doing risk management and quantitative investments => earn lot of experience.
+ Better exit opp, for quant HF/HF
+ BlackRock's reputation in Risk mgm

GS
+ Brand recognition
+ IB
+ Exposure to derivative pricing, hf trading, algo trading?
+ Slightly better salary
+ Easier with a transition to AM from IB then other way around
- Not FT

Thanks!

Hey not going to give you any direct advice, but it's better to contact alums from your school that are working in those companies in those positions and see if you can chat/learn about the position.
