Hello everyone - I was invited here by Andy after he saw my contributions to other forums (as NS on Nuclear Phynance, and NShah on Wilmott).

Incidentally I am not a specialist quant recruiter however for fixed income exotics & commodity derivatives businesses on the sell side and fixed income in general for the buy side, searching for quants can sometimes be part of my mandate for Asia. Andy feels that I can contribute some insight into the Asia Pacific market for QN members. My main markets are actually structuring & sales for the product areas above.

Within the firm I work for we do have a quant specialist who covers all asset classes and systematic / algorithmic trading for Europe and the USA, and also a fixed income / commodities structuring & sales specialist for Europe & the Middle East.

One thing I would like to stress is that I am open to answering questions on the board as far as time permits, and I would like to contribute to the community in this way, however from a hiring point of view we only work on mandates for experienced hires usually with 2+ years experience as a minimum.

Andy has also mentioned that it would be a good idea to do a formal Q&A at some point and I agree with this.

Thanks for reading & I look forward to contributing!
Niraj

Niraj,
Thanks for joining Quantnet. I hope you soon find us a friendly community that you can build great working relationships.
Business wise, it's a win-win situation. I'd would prefer to have recruiters on Quantnet who are willing to spend time to build relationships with our members as potential clients. I have a dislike for those who carpet bomb our site with job ads and then disappear.

We have a large number of members who have family ties in Asia. They are either working or studying in NYC. It's more than likely that many of them have been thinking about positions in Asia given the region impressive growth. When it's time to make a move, knowing someone who recruits in the region will be of huge advantage.

That said, enjoy your stay here and we hope to read more from you, Niraj.

Thank you for joining Quantnet Niraj. I think I can speak for everyone that your joining the forum is very welcome and we look forward to becoming familiar you going forward!
