I'm wondering how common practices such as agile/scum/etc are for a typical quant job? I ask becausing I'm considering a career change from software engineerig (i have some prior experience working in a bank back office ) to quantitative analysis, and one of my main motivations is that SWE world seems to increaingly have become one of micromanagement (a la agile/scrum/etc), outsourcing/offshoring, and treating engineers less like trusted professionals and more like ... well i don't what exactly.

The time+effort it would take me to make a career change is a separate topic and that's not what I'm asking. Really, I think my question is more just an open-ended one about a comparision of the kinds of professional cultures one is likely to encounter in quant roles?
