I am pursuing a MS in math and its concentration is in computational science. This sets me up nicely to pursue a PhD in computational science if I choose.
I would not be getting the PhD in computational science for the purposes of getting a job, but were I to obtain it, how valuable is it viewed in the finance industry? (compared to a PhD in CS, math, or physics)
Here is a sample curriculum at such a school:
http://www.math.gatech.edu/academics/graduate/phd-computational-sciences-and-engineering
Other schools such as Stanford, CalTech, MIT, among others, offer similar programs.
As you can see, it makes use of all of the math valuable to finance.
