How is the Pre MFE program at UC Berkeley?

Does anyone have experience with this pre MFE program? It says that they don't cover rigorous mathematics and their C++, STATS, and VBA courses are all introductory. Would this program be suitable for someone preparing for MFE/QF program even if they don't plan to go to Berkeley?
