Hello,
I'm doing Bachelors in Engineering in India, currently in the 4th year of Electronics and Telecommunication. I've given my GRE and I got 316 ( Q-162 ; V-154).
I am interested in Finance and I don't have much of a background with economics either. I am confused on how I can decide if MFE would be the course for me.
If you'll could help!
Thankyou!

how do you go from electronics/telecomm to financial engineering? whats your motivation?

Mm, I think it is not a big jump.
In general, people from this major are good at math and programming.:D:D

Merely asking what's attracted the OP to the field of quant finance.
It's an important question because he says he's got no background in economics or finance.
It's hard to see where is the motivation coming from, even more so when the OP asks us if the MFE is good for him. It seems to me we really shouldn't be the ones answering that question for him.

I find that a lot of people post on this site all looking to answer the question of whether they should get an MFE. Clearly, they are just infatuated with the $$$.

I think it's an extremely important question. Adcoms have no shortage of smart applicants. If you look through the tracker carefully you'll see a number of students with >3.9 gpa's >167 GREQ that don't get into top programs. You need to be able to sell yourself. Look at your resume and cover letter as a story of your path to the financial industry.

In terms of deciding whether you should apply to MFE's in the first place I would start with google, the forums here, etc and try to learn as much as you can about quantitative finance to see whether or not it interests you. If you have time pursue some sort of relevant internship.
