Got plenty of messages from recruiters in LinkedIn.

Don't know whether they are spam or scam.

Anyone have any successful experiences in landing quantish roles with such recruiters?

be careful of spam sites that "look" like Linkedin

e.g. noreplyblabla@e.linkedin.bla

the e. is suspect
not the .bla? ;)

Anyhow, there are many recruiters who spam job offers to anyone claiming to be a quant on LinkedIn (I have been in close contact with four, though to be fair I am not looking for a job now). If you actually respond they will want you to come down and meet them. A lot of them are legit, just to be quite frank they don't get the best jobs (at least from my experience).

I'm one of them. I left my job in financial IT last year to start a recruiting firm. I differentiate myself from other recruiters by having 20+ years of experience working in the industry. This gives me a pretty good understanding of how things work inside these orgs, and it also gives me a lot of contacts within the industry who I work closely with. I only work on what I consider to be excellent opportunities for the simple reason that I can't attract good talent otherwise.

I won't comment on other recruiters, but I'd be more than happy to give you my opinion on quality of any opportunity that is presented to you. Just email me at peter@affinityny.com.
