Hello all,

I was wondering if I could get some advice about selecting course.

The goal of my future career is Macro quant researcher. So, I am preparing to go to the master course.
It is so confusing which course is really fitted way. ‘Economics’ or ‘Econometrics’.

Especially, I am willing to learn and take part in currencies market as a quant researcher. Establishing Forex models and providing investment strategies and ways to asset allocate. Not only for the financial field but also trading(goods) companies. I am facing a wall to choose master course right now, but if I dive into the academic area, I will keep study until PhD.

I think that there are two possible ways.
1. Attending Economics and focus on the International and Macro Economics mainly. And develop Statistics and Econometrics skills by myself.

2. Attending Econometrics course mainly, and develop International and Macro Economics by myself.

To study about I mention below, which way is better? Could you give some recommends?
I hope to deal with real FX contracts and interest rates.
I am interested in building Investment Strategy using Macro indexes such as FX and interest rates.
Building FX models to provide trading(goods) companies to manage their forex exposures.

My Bachelor degree is Economics and I am little bit worry about math skills. But I think that I can improve it.

Can I get some advice to choose any master course?

If I mentioned something wrong and vague, please notice me.

Thank you for time and considerations.

Best regards,

Joonsung Park
