Master Programs Comparison: Which quant program to choose?

I have been offered a place at Stevens with $10k Scholarship. I have also been offered a place at Rutgers MQF. I need to pay Rutgers 3.7k USD by tomorrow if I need to reserve their seat. I am still awaiting decisions from other schools (Chicago, Columbia etc.)

I want to understand is it worth dropping Rutgers over Stevens as my worst-case scenario.

@Andy Nguyen would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Which program is better suited for quant roles in buy side (trading/research)? NCSU FinMath seems to more focused towards risk roles.
Could someone give a brief pros and cons list to get a better perspective.

Thoughts on the two programs and the pros and cons of each? I received acceptances from both, waiting on results from other schools but if I had to choose between these two, which one should it be? Looking to go into Algorithmic Trading at prop-trading firms post-graduation.

Can I ask when you got an acceptance decision and when you applied for UW CFRM?

I got my offer today and applied Feb 1st. Was asked to submit a video essay like last week
Video essay? That's interesting... I also applied on Feb 1st and am international, but I haven't heard anything :0
Anyway Thx for that info! I hope you will be accepted to your Top choice!

Hi guys,

Thank you for giving advice! I need to choose one program to attend this fall 2024 from these three programs.

I wish to find a job in the US and need company to sponsor H1B. I don't really have a preference in working in buy side or sell side, and I accept risk, quant research, quant trading or any fin-tech fields. So I mainly care about finding a full time job in the US. Which program works better for me?

Hey man
So even Im caught up in a similar situation MCF Stanford and MSCF CMU
Can you tell me how was your experience. I intend to work and start my own quant fund down the lane

Hi I was wondering what’s everyone’s thought on this, I have received an offer from both Oxford MCF and Columbia MAFN. I’m very stuck with deciding between these 2 program. I know for Columbia the career support has been getting better, and as for Oxford it is known for the quantitative learning but it seems like there isn’t much career support especially how the program is only 10 months. Could someone give an input?

If you want to work in the US vs the UK probably factors pretty significantly into this comparison

I’m actually open for both places, more importantly it’s the quality of the program and the career service

Oxford unless you want to work in US
