May I apply to quant position if I have an offer in IT?

Hi Everyone,
I completed internship in IT at Bank of America this summer. I worked as application developer. My internship was successful and I have an offer for next year. I will graduate in May 2011 (master in physics). But I would like to work as quant.
If I apply to quant role at Bank of America, may it harm my offer?

Did you accept the offer? If so, then you're being disingenuous.

Don't apply for the quant role and think you will have the IT job as a backup, they realistically could rescind the offer. If you want to apply for the quant role then you need to decline the IT offer.

But one in hand is worth two in the bush.
