So, this year I'm applying to Imperial College for a graduate degree, related to quantitative finance.

I know Imperial has 3 graduate degrees that could enter this description:
- MSc. in Financial Engineering and Risk Management (From Imperial Business School)
- MSc. in Mathematics & Finance (From the Department of Mathematics)
- MSc. in Statistics (Statistical Finance, From the Department of Mathematics)

My goal is to be a buy side quant trader. I mean, I'm not very enthusiast in terms of valuating exotic derivatives or so, I want to make quantitative strategies, algorithmic trading and so.

My undergrad thesis was Machine Learning models to build ETFs and generate alpha through stat arb.

Any thoughts on what graduate degree could be better?

Thanks!

Hi,
I would go for statistics. I think it’s best when looking for a buy side position compared to MFEs and related

Mathematics & Finance for sure. Course content is directly designed for quant roles and it has great industry links
