Hi everyone, i am 26 software engineer from Georgia country. Looking for career change as i am more interested in quant analysis/trading, want to pursue MFE or something similar. Need evaluation of my profile, suggested universities and hear advices to have at least low chance in columbia mfe programm and generally make my profile stronger. Looking forward to send applications this fall. Here are some things about me:

I have very low gpa 2.24 ( graduated from the top rated university from top rated program in whole country (maths and compsi)).

I had one of the best results in national exams, like top 0.05%. This is exam that everyone who wants to enroll in university (BC) should take otherwise cant enroll. Its like combination of reasoning test + language + maths. Somewhere 30 000-35 000 take that exam every year.

I have not yet taken GRE test but i am aiming (done test for evaluating) 170Q and 160+V.

I have very good work experience, i am senior software engineer in one of the best companies in my country, have some significant career achievements i can highlight in SOP.

p.s. i am looking forward for fair suggestions. Thanks in advanced.

Your work experience may compensate your low GPA, especially if you have worked for a few years.
Programs will want to make sure your math is not rusty and you can interview for job on day 1.
What research has you done to say Columbia MFE is right for you?
