Has anyone here heard of the CDO program at MIT? The curriculum seems very engineering/science-based but has obvious applications to quant finance.

I had applied for admission this year but was rejected. There are many courses relevant to quant finance like numerical solutions to PDEs and optimization techniques etc. In fact if you have a look at the theses of master's students, you can see quite a few works on quant finance, especially under Prof. Dimitris Bertsimas.

I'm just wondering about the program's placement statistics. Given the interdisciplinary nature of the curriculum, many students probably go on to further graduate studies or non-finance related industry jobs. The program costs half as much as the MS in Finance and is quite a bit more quantitatively rigorous (so it might actually place better into quant positions?) but you're probably on your own for career services.
