Hello Folks,

I got into Quantnet quite tangentially. I am a Risk Specialist at an energy fir, I ievaluate the risk and opportunities in some of the biggest projects in the industry. The skills i use were overlapping with those of quants. I use a lot less programming and lot more inter-disciplinary knowledge like contracts, insurance,inter-cultural relation.

I'd be interested in Risk Mgmt and opportunities available in it.

I'm not sure what your asking are you looking for a job? Career advice?

Hey Richard, welcome to Quantnet. Your job sounds very interesting. Do you specialize in certain products? Also, I notice you are working in Singapore - are you mainly focused on the SE Asian market?

Hello dear friends, you guys from Singapore?

I am from Singapore too. Was from Chemical Engineering bachelors and now considering career in quantitative finance and risk management.

One possibility for me is to work in the area of commodity trading for energy companies. Can anyone share with me how can I work towards such a role? Will a Masters of Financial Engineering help?

I am considering the MFE from NTU, anyone know whether the chance for me to get a quantitative analyst / risk management / trader job is high if I graduate from this program? I do not have any finance work experience.
